about

Thank you to Lily Acedia (twitter.com/LilyAcedia) for the artwork!

This marks the final chapter of the Year of Catastrophi storyline started on April 21st of last year. I have stayed vague about a lot of this, so I will explain the story now. YOC begins with a happy world in which people are oblivious to the terror which looms over the horizon. Somewhere along the second half of the project nuclear bombs fall all over Earth, causing the end of humanity. This is except for one survivor whose paranoia lead him to avoid the blast in his bunker that he kept himself in every day. When he ventures out of it, he encounters the ghosts of everyone he once knew. With all of these doomed souls staring at him, he realizes that if anything could be done to change this situation, now is the time.

Thus, we transition to Gammal Synd (old sin). This man sees a great purple flame in the distance which draws him towards it. By doing so, he approaches the tomb of sin. Here, the physical manifestations of the sins which caused humanity to annihilate itself lie. To save his world, he first needs to rid it of the influences which caused its downfall. After fighting each sin one-by-one, he eventually ventures to the very bottom located in Earth's core. Voices echo from the magma celebrating his victory as he slays Wrath, the 7th and final sin. With all of the sins dead, he has officially purified himself from all influences of evil and has been granted with divinity. Six wings sprout from his back and a sword of pure silver rises from the magma. Now, the events of Modern Död (modern death) take place.

He would soon find out after arising out of the tomb that the sins called upon the four horsemen while he was hiding in his bunker, and now they want to turn the Earth into a source of pure evil in the universe. Over the course of millennia our hero flies across the land seeking out each of these horsemen and stopping the spread of corruption from entering Earth's core. When all four horsemen are slain, he attempts to bring life back on Earth but the atmosphere at this point is inhabitable for any mortal life. Without any other option, our hero sacrifices his divinity for a new Earth which can sustain life, causing the Ny Genesis (new genesis).

His soul becomes the sun, his heart the core. His blood forms the oceans while his skin is the land. His DNA forms a bridge which the souls once stuck in purgatory on the dead Earth use to travel to the new land and be reborn from the sea. When everyone left, this DNA then formed an outer ring which circles the new Earth forever as a testament to this great struggle. Luckily for our hero, he was granted the ability to walk on this new Earth in a perfect body which he himself was able to choose. However, the memories of himself and everyone else affected by the blast were erased so that they may all live in peace. As the music fades, so too does our story...

Thank you everyone for your support, all of you are the reason I keep going every morning!
